Day 286. Paper.
Mar. 29th, 2009 | 10:31 pm
Seen today at the San Francisco Westfield Mall's women's restroom, down at the food court (picture taken at home bathroom, with camera phone, because I don't have the computer connector to my actual camera):

Toilet paper with paint by numbers on it.

And yes, the color that corresponds to each number is brown.
Think what you will, but we thought it was totally hilarious.

Day 253. Ann.
Feb. 24th, 2009 | 09:02 pm
I love Ann Hathaway.
Not just because if the Princess Dairies is on Television I have to watch it. Even Princess Dairies 2.
Not just because she is so, so pretty. Devil Wears Prada? She's freaking gorgeous.
I saw her in Brokeback Mountain, which was cool 'cause she was so different, but I fell in love with her in Devil Wears Prada.
Even so, she had yet to reach the status of awesome that she is now at. Remember when I wrote about NPH? Yeah. It's kinda like that.
The kiss she shares with Steve Carell in Get Smart is surprisingly awesome to watch, and even though according to the internet she was pretty sick during it, it looks amazing.
Rachel Getting Married. Obviously this role is great because it's different than what she usually does, and blah blah blah, but really. She shows how much she is a great actress, she shows truth in her character and is surrounded by a cast that so amazingly show cases how a family with so many troubles can work and not work. The whole movie just moves her forward into an entire other category of wonderfulness.
And did you see her sing at the Oscars? (please see previous post. hopefully the clip is still there).
Her gorgeousness is also declared by Project Rungay, the ones whom I go to for all fashion information (that I usually don't understand. The way I can't remember what exactly happened in Lord of the Rings): http://projectrungay.blogspot.com/2 009/02/2009-oscars-part-1.html
(Such a beautiful dress.)
She can act, she's charming, she feels so real, she's not afraid to laugh, she can have a conversation.Lovely.
And then there's this:
And this (you want a sense of humor and talent? She does the bestest and actually hilarious girl on a date almost vomits but manages to swallow it imitation):
Ann Hathaway is so funny and personable. Joining the ranks of Hugh Jackman, and NPH (Nathan Fillion is totally gaining too, gotta convince ms. rogue first), I finally have a woman so awesome I just have to follow her career (there are others, but she's my most recent and strongest favorite.)
Probably won't go see Bride Wars though. (I apologize if this doesn't make so much sense, I am so , so tired.)

Day 244. Sat on your Fat.
Feb. 15th, 2009 | 09:33 pm
I took a look at the sat. fat on the food I've been eating and I realized that, wow, my food may only have a gram or two of saturated fat but if it's in everything I'm sure still eating it.
Which is why at the grocery store I was considering my options. Checking out food labels like any other health obsessed lady who actually starts understanding all the weird jargon under the ingredients.
Then I call my mama and ask for blessing for a purchase I'm considering (ok, not really, she's my nutrition/health consultant. Usually I say "hey, this foodstuffs has these ingredients, these calories, fat, sat. fat, salt, fiber, what do you think? healthy? worth it?" and she says "um, go eat some fruit." actually she helps me figure out how to eat like a person who needs to. thanks mom!)
But miracle of miracles I've found soy chocolate pudding with no sat. fat. And after looking at http://www.101cookbooks.com/ so many times I'm starting to get the hang of this cooking healthy thing. Num.
I'm a vegan recipe eating organic nut who loves meat that is raised well and grass fed or free range.
I'm still kind of reeling at how that change came over me*.
And for anyone who wants something a wee bit more interesting here is a hilarious vid of a fat cat playing with a tiny ball, sent to me by mr. boyfriend! watch it, it'll make you laugh. :D
*especially considering the frequency at which I used to eat at taco bell and eat pizza.

Day 209. 'Cause I look good.
Jan. 11th, 2009 | 09:35 pm
I watched all night so I could bring some of the best NPH on SNL. The other bit I thought was mostly hilarious, probably mainly because Neil Patrick Harris was a woman, I won't put it, mainly 'cause I don't know if other's will think it so funny. ('course if your curious: http://www.hulu.com/watch/52191/saturda y-night-live-fran-and-freba).
go to the above link for more! he did a great job (of course), even if the writer's didn't necessarily come up with the best stuff.
Tomorrow: results of today's shopping trip (i drove! mostly well!)

Day 170. Internet Goodies.
Dec. 3rd, 2008 | 06:51 pm
I woke up this morning to some internet goodies, which I shall compile here for you viewing pleasure :D
Remember how I was going on and on about prop 8? This is prop 8 the musical, and of course it has nph in it, along with a bunch of other amazing stars.
Voltaire's first full length music video (he hopes to have a better quality one put up soon) (it's morbid, but fun!):
Back to my spanish ensayo final!

Day 115. Laughter for Love.
Oct. 9th, 2008 | 10:39 pm
"Yes, my father and mother are from Mexico, but I'm from Spain." - George Lopez
I love laughter, comedians, dealing with problems through humor, keeping people who make me smile close to me. I do smile easily, and my response to almost everything is a smile. I've got the warm smile down to an impulse, so that I can use it at my will. I know that my laugh is loud and sometimes disturbs others. I try to work to keep it at an appropriate level, until I'm somewhere safe and happy.
Thank goodness for humor, and thank goodness for parents who know how to laugh.
if you like lord of the rings and mystery science theater 3000, or just very funny commentary during movies, you'll love this:
(i really need more lj icons)

Day 108. Brains.
Oct. 2nd, 2008 | 10:28 pm
I'm the luckiest girl.
I have amazing friends, an awesome boyfriend, great family, and the ability to critically think about things.
Given my tendency to stress out too much, and to berate myself constantly for not being responsible enough, I think I should just let all that go (a little) and enjoy everything I have. Not in a hedonistic way, of course, but in a grateful way!
This next week I'm gonna blog everyday (with pictures!!!) about something that makes me think I'm extremely lucky and that I am very grateful for.
And instead of writing something lengthy, I'm going to refer you to these two webcomic strips, because I find them hilarious. The webcomic itself (Least I Could Do) is on the pervy side, but these comics are relatively not (the pervyness of the second one could be debated, I think it's cute :) :
(oh, and if you're religious with no sense of humor, the first one will probably offend you ;)
