Bio

Please ignore the name cosmicomiclady (although I do love lots and lots of comic books). Instead, please turn your attention to the other title of my blog, Chronically Distracted. If you look at my NaBloPoMo posts, or my 365 posts, or any of the posts, I'm sure you will notice the lack of a theme, especially when I declare one. I attribute this to my tendency to want to learn and write about everything*. Which would explain why I am a Liberal Studies major, and planning on getting my Masters in Library Science. I want access to all kinds of information! After that, if I haven't gone insane from information overload, PhD here I come! (in either women's studies or chicano studies or media studies, if anyone is curious.)

I figure whoever reads this and hasn't met me will want to know the usual stuff, so here we go!:
I love comics, I love reading, I get a huge sense of accomplishment from getting A's. I really enjoy writing (and redundancy). I had a kidney transplant about 6 years ago, I was lucky enough to get my mother's kidney. I'm Chicana (you know, Mexican-American). I also love to sing and in the past have taken piano and singing lessons. Someday I'll do that again . .
I didn't choose my lj name, my account was set up for me by a friend who I don't talk to anymore. Many of my friends I have now know that I have a tendency to over-explain, and as a result repeat myself. A handful of those friends don't get continuously annoyed by that habit. I may sometimes get a bit obsessed with details. I love crocheting. I am located in the "northern" part of California. Some people (mr. boyfriend and anyone in Oregon), claim that it is "central" California.

And I've gotten to meet pretty much all of my favorite comic book artist/writers, and they are all amazing people! Comic books are definitely a major staple for my brain, and keep me afloat when the skies are just a bit too grey, or the sun is shining just a bit too brightly.

*My parents suspect it's just from me getting distracted, primarily by the internet. In elementary school books were the distraction. Either way I claim it's because of my love of learning, 'cause most of the time when this distraction hits, I'm reading about something new. Or researching things on youtube. (oh yeah, you can totally do research on youtube. I assume.)
